So, what is payment PED? Some card machine providers like Verifone refer to payments PED on their website. A payment PED is just another name for a card machine. PED stands for Pin Entry Device. They were created by Visa who introduced a PED testing program in 2002 to make sure that card that could take chip & pin payments followed the same security standard.
